Federico Mele successfully defended his PhD thesis, which was presented at the University of Bern on June 29th, 2016. His thesis title was “Molecular regulation of cytokine production and response to Mycobacterium tuberculosis by human CD4 memory T cells” and the work has been done in the Cellular Immunology laboratory of Federica Sallusto. His co-advisor was Prof. Christoph Müller, his mentor Prof. Jens Stein, both from the University of Bern, while his external examiner was Prof. Francesco Annunziato from the University of Florence, Italy. Federico received the title of “PhD in Immunology”.
