Bio

Mariagrazia Uguccioni è direttore di laboratorio  presso l’IRB dalla sua creazione nel 2000 e vice direttore dell'Istituto dal 2010. Si è laureata in Medicina e Chirurgia presso l'Università di Bologna (IT), dove si è specializzata in Ematologia. Dopo la specializzazione ha studiato come borsista post-dottorale presso l'Istituto Theodor Kocher dell'Università di Berna studiando vari aspetti di struttura-funzione delle chemochine. Dal 2009 è membro dell’Accademia delle Scienze di Bologna. La sua ricerca ha coperto diversi aspetti dell’ematologia umana e dell’immunologia: espressione e attività delle chemochine in condizioni normali e patologiche, l'attivazione ed il traffico leucocitario, e gli antagonisti naturali delle chemochine. Recentemente il suo gruppo si è focalizzato sulle attività delle chemochine nelle malattie infiammatorie umane, nei tumori e nelle infezioni ed ha identificato un nuovo meccanismo di regolazione del traffico leucocitario.
